An open letter to our #AIALI15 collaborators,

On behalf of the AIA and the AIA Center for Civic Leadership, I want to extend a warm thank you to the 300+ participants of the 2015 AIA Leadership Institute. This year was the launch of a new pilot program, and we absolutely could not have accomplished such success without the dedication of the numerous individuals who stepped forward to make this event happen. Contributing their time from architecture studios around the country, this was a grassroots effort disguised as a national event. At the start in July of 2014, it was a dream, and by the end of our 18 month planning period we had five venues signed on and over 75+ volunteers collaborating, communicating, and organizing behind the scenes. Together we grew as leaders in finding our way through this start up year. Thank you to our sponsors, AIA staff, our partners, our national planning team, our Regional Venues teams, our local coordinators, our technology team, our volunteers, our participants, and many more who contributed. As we grow this program into year 2016 and beyond, we are thankful for your ideas and inspiration in launching year one.

Most sincerely,

Je'Nen M. Chastain, Assoc. AIA, LEED GA
